Redemption

Back in November I blogged about my alarm clock right after the time change. You probably don't remember the story because you probably don't remember every last detail of my life, but my alarm clock was new and, despite its lo-tech appearance, it fell back all by itself. I didn't know it would do that, and so when I woke up and my clock said 8:00 a.m., I thought it was really 7:00 a.m. I learned the truth by looking at my cell phone clock and it felt as though I'd completely lost my extra hour. This was kind of devastating because I'd have to wait an entire year for that extra hour to come around again.

Apparently I don't remember every last detail of my life, either. Because when I went home last night after only just learning from a friend that we were about to lose an hour (10:30 at night is a lousy time to learn this) I dutifully set my alarm forward so that at least I wouldn't be surprised by the change. Which means that this time when I woke up at 8:00 a.m., I thought it was really 9:00 a.m.. And then I turned on my computer and it insisted otherwise and I remembered about the alarm-clock-changing-itself thing. Hello extra hour that I lost in November!

(Never mind that I'm now losing an hour by blogging about an hour gained. It's just that I haven't blogged for two weeks, and while I have this incredibly awesome post planned for tomorrow, it's a very time-intensive post, and there's a high likelihood that it won't be completed on time. Because, you know, I lost an hour today that I could have worked on it (and gained it back and lost it again by writing a significantly less awesome blog post about gaining an hour).)

I hate the spring time change. It takes so long for the body to adust to losing that hour. Plus, this one came really quickly after the fall one and it was NOT well publicized. Church attendance this morning was a bit sparce today!

I hope I didn't cause too much stress in your life. But yay for Pi day tomorrow. I'm sure that's the time sensitive thing you're talking about. If, not, I'll be equally excited to read about whatever your adventures are.
