Red has finally entered the Provo color palette, and while there isn't quite as much of it as there was in Michigan, it still gives me a little thrill to be out in my car or on a run or a walk and see flashes of brilliant color. Most of the color in Provo is still yellow, and I think that's probably just how it's going to be, but even the yellow can be pretty magnificent against a vivid blue sky. I tried to capture a bit of fall on a walk with Jin recently, although the walk didn't take me past as much color as I hoped. (Also, Jin does not like picture-taking walks because he doesn't understand the concept of stopping when you're out on a walk.)
This post is brought to you by a week of not much going on. Okay, I guess that's not entirely true. I ran a half marathon (I do not advise running a race of any distance with a chest cold, but I did finish, and enjoyed the time with my brother and sister-in-law). And I got to visit an elementary school and watch 1st and 3rd graders doing math, which was an awful lot of fun. And I made cupcakes for the review session for the class I teach and while I expected they would like that, I didn't expect just how incredibly happy it made them, and that made me happy.
Oh yeah, and I put up two new reviews on my book blog. The theme is houses. One house is happy and the other is not, but the titles might mislead you if you try to guess which is which. Unless you clicked on the links in the sentence, which totally gave away the answer.

Beautiful! I can't get enough of the fall color! :)
I think you did a great job catching the fall colors. Beautiful! (And thank you Jin, for your part.)
I agree! I feel less guilty having looked at these photos - "less guilty" as in, I had always thought Utah was no match compared to Michigan. If only it could hold that pose for another week!
