Day 5: Parenting Hacks

Yesterday I arrived with Miles at the rec center and realized I'd left our duffel with towels and dry clothes back home. Neither the rec center nor Honk's dollar store across the street had towels, so I improvised. Miles swam topless, and after his lesson I toweled him off with my big, soft scarf, dressed him in his dry swim top and a diaper from my purse, and tucked the scarf around his bare legs in the car seat. As a (pre-)reward for my ingenuity, we had our first tears-free swim lesson!

He usually falls asleep on the way home.
