We know that Miles looks different now, but when Brian and I looked at the pictures side-by-side, the change was astounding to us:
In his one-month bouncy chair picture he looks like a little creature, but in his two-month bouncy chair picture he looks like a real person.
At 2 months, Miles...
- has almost stopped making goat noises, and has replaced them with cooing and little happy yells,
- likes tummy time a lot more, and will spend ten minutes or so at a time on his tummy making happy cooing noises, kicking his legs, and moving around (but it's when he is done with tummy time and starts crying that he really moves, and will travel a good foot or two in a very short period of time),
- has rolled over form front to back three times, and from back to front once,
- has mostly transitioned from newborn clothes to 0-3 month clothes, and is a pretty spiffy dresser because we got more clothes in that range than any other,
- still loves his pacifier, and will actively search for it with his mouth when it slips out, which is super-cute,
- has started to gain more control over his hands, and will sometimes sit and calmly explore his fist and fingers with his mouth
- still eats really well, but spits up a lot (something he never did during his first month)
- loves going outside - we've added "walking outside" to our list of successful calm-down strategies
- smiles pretty rarely, but he's definitely smiling for real occasionally
Miles' second month has been rather eventful. He went to Park City with his parents for their anniversary, got off his oxygen and apnea monitor, moved to California for the summer, Great Grandma and Grandpa W., Grandpa J., and his California cousins, went to church for the first time, got his first portraits taken, dipped his toe in the Pacific Ocean, and went to Hard Rock Cafe and the Hollywood Walk of Fame.
And yesterday, on his 2 month birthday, Brian and I had our own milestone when we left Miles for several hours with my parents to go to the L.A. film festival. It was for Brian's work, but it was the first time we'd been out on a real date without Miles since he came home, and he did great with his grandparents.

And since this is ostensibly a Miles post, I'll end with a few more pictures of Miles, Month 2:
