Countdown to 2010, #10

I always feel like I need to end the year with a bang on my blog, or at least with a healthy dose of published self-reflection. 2009 has, like most years, been pretty eventful. But I'm not too enthusiastic about writing a List of Interesting Things That Happened This Year post, so I've been thinking about how to do it differently. What I finally settled on was a series of shorter blogs, ten lists of ten, to count down to the new year. For the next ten days you're going to get a blog a day. I hope you don't get sick of my writing. They should all be pretty short and painless. So without further ado...

#10 Ten Favorite Pictures of Jin

I have been a dog owner for almost a year and a half now, and I just adore my pet. He's affectionate and funny and he loves me, and I have never regretted my decision. I don't take that many pictures of my dog, and I share even fewer of them, but here are my favorites from this past year. I like starting out with this particular list because looking back at pictures of my dog kind of let me look back at the entire year.

1. Jin destroys his first toy. Aww...

2. Jin's first de-skunking after he ran away overnight. He returned from his adventure smelly and limping and looked as sad as he does in this picture for about a week.

3. Even Chalsea warmed up to Jin.

4. Noble Beast.

5. Road trip to Colorado and Utah. He wasn't quite as perky by the end.

6. Jin meets my family.

7. Jin doing funny things on camera, Part I:
He buried his nose in the couch one day and then just sat there.
It was funnier in person, but the picture almost captures it.

8. Jin doing funny things on camera, Part II:
Upside-down dog.

9. Jin doing funny things on camera, Part III:
Hiding behind the curtain.

10. Jin doing funny things on camera, Part IV:
The night before I left for California, I was in my bedroom packing and realized that Jin was not in the room with me. This was strange because he usually doesn't leave my side, so I went looking for him and found him guarding this trash bag. Very intently. I tried hard not to laugh out loud so I that I wouldn't distract him before I could snap a photo, but he was pretty hard to distrsact from this particular task.

He does take his duties to heart, doesn't he?! He's sure been a great and fun companion!
