Crunch

For those of you who are curious, here's the damage:

And from another angle...

For those who haven't heard the story yet, it wasn't my fault. I was attending a ward activity that I didn't want to attend, meeting at the Institute building for a carpool I knew I wouldn't participate in because I was planning on leaving the activity early, and I stood two feet away as one of the elders backed right up into my door. By the time I realized that the missionary standing outside directing the backing up wasn't quite doing his job, it was too late.

I guess the plus side of all of this is that the church is probably a pretty trustworthy entity to deal with in matters of insurance when you're not at fault. And I suppose it's probably about time for me to learn about how car insurance works, particularly how my own car insurance works. And the damage to my car isn't likely to have any permanent after-effects.

But it did sort of put a damper on the evening.

Ouch! I guess the Elder wasn't listening to the spirit very well. That or he needs a new set of glasses. Major bummer!

Double ouch! You didn't exaggerate, in fact I was imagining the owie to be much smaller. That's a pretty good war wound!

At least you are safe and the damage is repairable. It could have easily been a lot worse.

I thought I was on your Birthday writing. Since I have read both and enjoyed both even thought they are quite different I will continue. Poor Trooper received two different crunches and I was not at falt either time. Your Birthday was a good one. It's fun to count them untill latter on. It has been quite a year. You are doing very well. Love you and thanks for the nice note I received today.
