Bicenti-Something

I have been watching my number of posts tick upwards towards 200 for some time now, and have been wondering what sort of blog post might commemorate the number. I even cleared away all my unpublished drafts to make sure that the the 200th post was really and truly the 200th published post on my blog. And after publishing 199 a few days ago I started to worry a little because all my ideas were fairly mundane. I couldn't even post a link to my most recent book review, because that was just a dumb way to celebrate 200 blog posts.

But then it happened. On, providentially enough, the very last day of my third full year of blogging (which sounds just a bit better than the day before the third anniversary of my first blog post every).

Let it be known that on this day, the seventh day of January 2008, Amy published her 200th blog post, and...

GOT ENGAGED!!!!

No, wait. Sorry, Kelsey. Let me try again.

On this day, the seventh day of January 2008, Amy published her 200th blog post, and...

WENT RUNNING OUTDOORS! IN SHORT SLEEVES!

That is at least as exciting (if not more so) than the (false) engagement, considering that it is MICHIGAN! And JANUARY! And did I mention I was wearing SHORT SLEEVES?!

When I came home from classes around 3:30 this afternoon there were lowering clouds and periodic breezes, but Yahoo! Weather told me that it was 63 degrees outside - 63 degrees! After so much time on the treadmill in the last couple months, and so much more time ahead of me in the next several, I couldn't resist the temptation. It was a lovely run, absolutely perfect running weather. And mother nature found a better 200th blog topic than I could have thought of myself. Thanks, mother nature! And happy 200th! To, um, me.

Congratulations!! Long live Global Warming? Who says that Eskimos don't want palm trees growing in the arctic and why do we think that isn't a good thing? To those living in coastal lowlands, you've had you fun now move to higher ground or suffer the consequences!

Oh, wait a minute, this is a congratulatory note on your 200th blog!! That is a landmark! By the way, we still enjoy and look forward to every one of them. Keep 'em coming.

I went running in shorts the other day. It was beautiful. I was back to sweats this morning, but I still got by with a t-shirt and little gloves. I love good running weather in the winter; I think I appreciate it more.
