I have been trying not to make conscious comparisons between BYU and U of M right now while I'm in transition because that could get me in trouble. But I have to say that when it comes to food on or near campus, U of M has BYU beat, no question. My first time in their equivalent of the Cougareat I was in and out with my food in hand in approximately five minutes, and that was shortly after noon. And then today, because I really didn't feel like Wendy's or Subway or pizza but needed something since I had left the house in a rush this morning and neglected to pack a lunch, I crossed the street and found myself in a tiny Greek pita shop ordering a $3.50 sandwich. It was absolutely delicious - lentil goop with a sort of nutmeg flavor wrapped with lettuce and tomato in a better pita than anything I've ever bought at the supermarket. I had my doubts on the first bite, but by the third was already planning when I would allow myself to forget to pack a lunch again. And this is only one of many fabulous, quick, cheap ethnic food alternatives within five minutes of the School of Education.
On a completely different note, I have finally figured out how to add pictures to my blog (it's awfully easy and I don't know why I didn't try to figure this out sooner). And so for your viewing pleasure I present my favorite family picture from this summer's family reunion (courtesy of my photographer cousin).
In order from left to right, that's my dad, then me, my sister Belles, brother number one (brother number two is in the Air Force and was unable to get leave for the reunion) and my mom.
Now you know what I look like, if you didn't already :).
